Grace Academy crushed by The Covenant Preparatory School

The The Covenant Preparatory School Knights walloped the host Grace Academy football team by a score of 64-28 in Friday's non-league challenge.

Grace Academy was physically whipped on both sides of the ball losing the line play and only able to muster 231 yards of total offense while Covenant amassed over 400 yards of offense with 334 coming on the grounnd.

Cole Campbell led the Griffins in rushing (119 yards on 11 carries) while adding 11 tackles and a fumble recovery. Isaiah Gonzales led the team in tackles with 12 and Hunter Maxwell added another eight tackles.

"We simply did not have the team strength of Covenant," stated Coach Golemon. "We have alot to clean up going into next week but it is always good to start the season with a tough opponent to help expose your weaknesses."

The (0-1) Griffins will now prepare for their challenge against Valor South Austin (Austin, TX). The Falcons go into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Valor South Austin bounced Prairie Lea (Prairie Lea, TX), 50-45, in a non-league challenge.
