Griffins fall to favored Wilco

The Grace Academy football team (Georgetown, TX), dropped 42-32 in Friday's non-league bout with the host Williamson County HomeSchool (Austin, TX)
For the second week in a row the Griffins entered the game as underdogs and to the tune of 45 dogs against Wilco. The game plan was to keep the score low and consume as much clock as possible given the undefeated Wilco offense who had outscored their opponent in the three previous contests by an average of 49 points.
The Griffins initial scoring drive took 8 minutes off the clock and their subsequent drive took another 6 minutes off the clock. The half ended with an unfortunate (nonexistant) penalty that killed called back a TD and a score by the Falcon on the last play of the first half.
Hunter Maxwell had 237 yards on 43 touches and almost all of them were hard fought gains to keep the clock rolling. The defense was led by Samual "Kitchen" Moore who had 8 tackels on defense.
With the defeat, Grace Academy drops to 5-3 on the campaign. The host Hill County (Hillsboro, TX) to clash with the Wolves in a TAIAO Division 3 - North (6 Man) outing on Friday, November 1. The Wolves come into the outing with a record of 2-6.
