NYOS Charter overwhelmed by Grace Academy

In Friday's non-league game, the Grace Academy (Georgetown, TX) football team triumphed over the host NYOS Charter Jaguars (Austin, TX), by a tally of 66-22.


The Griffins rolled up over 400 yards of total offense with 394 yards rushing led by Hunter Maxwell's 352 yards rushing and 8 TDs. Josh Moore also had a pair of receptions from Evan Hoyt for a total of 17 yards.


Defensively, Grace held NYOS to under 100 yards rushing with Cole Campbell leading the team with 9 tackles and Samual more tallying 7 tackles with 3 TFL.


Unfortunately, the Griffins suffered an ACL injury to Campbell which would end his season. "It will be impossible to replace Campbell with a single player," said Coach Golemon. "He is our most versatile player and it will take a team effort to plug the holes created by his departure. Our prayers is that he heals quickly and can partcipate in Spring sports."


In their next game, the battle the Concordia Cardinals (Round Rock, TX) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 20. Grace Academy will attempt to better on its 2-1 season record. The Cardinals enter the game with a 3-0 record after their 77-18 non-league win over San Juan Diego Catholic (Austin, TX).
